4oz e-glass fiberglass fabric is a light weight, high temperature resistant plain weave cloth. It owns high tensile strength and flexibility and it is able to provides great strength and fabrication. 4oz, 6oz and 8oz are standard specification for surfboard glassing/laminating. These economical material with tear resistance and durability can keep the surfboard in high strength but low weight.
When do the fiber glassing, sevaral layers of 4oz or 6oz e-glass fabrics are used to the surfboard deck. Typically it is 3 layers totally: two on the top and one on the bottom. 4oz e-glass fiber cloth is mainly used for shortboard so standard width of 4oz is 27.5 inches. Unionfull roll length of 4oz 120GSM fiberglass fabric is 100 meters.
